1. Scope

Cookies are small records stored by a browser. Studio may also use localStorage and IndexedDB. The purpose and actual use matter, not only the technology's name.

2. Local editor storage identified in source

• IndexedDB database “benedikt-knife-editor”, stores “projects” and “canvasBoards”: saves your designs and boards on the device. Data persists until you or the browser remove it; browsers may also evict storage for technical reasons.

• localStorage key “benedikt.screen-scale.v1”: saves the display calibration you set. It persists until changed or removed, including when browser data is cleared.

These records are not a backup on our server. Save backups before clearing browser data. Refusing advertising must not delete your designs.

3. Necessary and optional technologies

We use technologies without consent only where an applicable legal exception permits it, particularly where strictly necessary for a service you expressly request. Simply calling every functional cookie necessary is insufficient.

Once accounts are integrated, necessary technologies may include authentication, security and remembering consent choices. Exact names, providers, purposes and lifetimes: [[VERIFIED_NECESSARY_TECHNOLOGY_LIST]].

Optional analytics measures use; advertising tools measure campaigns or enable advertising audiences. Where consent is required, they are activated only after the relevant choice.

4. Publication variants – select the one matching deployment

VARIANT A, no optional tracking:

Use only after also checking hosting, embedded media and network requests. A consent banner for nonexistent advertising cookies is unnecessary when all actual technologies qualify for an exception.

5. Your choices

If optional tools are used, we offer “Accept all”, “Reject optional” and “Settings”. Optional categories start off. Browsing, scrolling or dismissing the notice does not give consent.

Change or withdraw your choice at [[COOKIE_SETTINGS]]. Withdrawal is as easy as giving consent. Further processing based on withdrawn consent stops; data already received by a third party is subject to applicable rights and retention rules.

Storage, reading and network requests from optional tools must respect your choice. Server-side events or a technical “consent mode” do not automatically exempt processing from legal requirements.

You can also manage site data in your browser. Clearing all data may sign you out or remove local designs. Clearing cookies does not itself cancel a subscription.
